Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti (HAS) has served the health and development needs of hundreds of thousands of people in Haiti’s rural Artibonite Valley for the past 55 years. Demand for services has been especially acute since the devastating earthquake in 2010 and subsequent cholera epidemic.
Farm Aid's Family Farm Disaster Fund provides small disaster grants to farm families and supports the work of farmer hotlines, recovery and mitigation trainings at the farm level, and advocacy efforts for better federal disaster programs that reach more farmers.+www.farmaid.org
Télécoms Sans Frontières is the leading humanitarian NGO specialized in emergency telecommunications. As soon as a disaster or a sudden onset of emergency strikes, TSF deploys telecom specialists who install Emergency Communication Centres for aid agencies right at the heart of crisis. These centres provide relief organizations, UN agencies and local authorities with laptops connected to the Internet, phone and fax lines and technical assistance. TSF also offers free calls to families affected by humanitarian crisis.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries.
